The 40th Institute of China Electronics Technology Corporation (40th Institute,for short) is the sole specialty institute of relays,connectors and switches for Chinese electronics industry and national defence industry.Established in 1984,40th Institute was affiliated with the Ministry of Electronics Industry and the Ministry of Information industry,before assigned to CETC. Now 40th Institute is located in Bengbu High-and-New Technology Development Zone,with floor area of 109,000 square meters,construction area of 60,700 square meters, net assets of over RMB78 million Yuan,and total assets of RMB130 million Yuan. In recent ten years, our scientific research and production is developing rapidly,the annual growth rate of output value and income per capita are over 20 per cent.

At present,the annual production capacity of 40th Institute breaks through 1 million pieces of connectors,20,000 pieces of cable assemblies,the annual production capacity of relays up to 80,000 units;the annual capacity of auto electronic products upto 20,000 units/sets;annual production capacity of metal package housing up to nearly 3 million units.

In addition,the 40th Institute now possesses two per-military standard production lines ,i.e., “Micro heametically sealed polarixation relays and “RF coaxial connector and phase-stable cable assembly”.

Porcess capability

Now40th Institute possesses over 640 sets of various scientific production equipments or instruments,among themover 110 sets are imported scientific productionequipments/instruments.A gold plating running line and a glass-insulator packageline,connector assembly line, phase-adjustable cable assembly line.Through the practice of a series of technical transformation programms,our technology and tools are developing at very high speed.At procent, we own machining,electrical processing,heat treatment,finishing,glass-sealing,plastic molding,die manufacture,cable assembly assembling etc.Among them,the imported micro-prosessor-based gold plating production line is in the advanced level in domestic industry,all these advanced equipments and means provide the tasks of developing new products with effective guarantee.

Quality ensurance

Product quality is the life of an enterprise.The 40th Institute have set up a complete quality guarantee system.

in 1998,we passed the ISO9001 quality system accreditation;in 2002,we passed the version change of standard transformation in accordance of GB/T19001-2000.In January 2004,we passed the accreditation of version change to GJB9001-2001.

40th Institute is established with two centers,one is "Relays,Connectors and Switches Quality Inspection and Test Centre of MII",the another is "Assciation of Electronic Connectors Industry Quality Control Centre".Among them,"Relays,Connectors and Switches Quality Inspection and Test Centre of MII" (Inspection and Test Centre,for short) is accredited by China Meterage Accreditation(CMA).In 2002,40th Institute has become the

"Contracted Laboratory" with the Fifth Electronic Institute of MII.

In recent years,in order to meet the demands of scientific items and military equipments,the Inspection and Test Centre has gradually accreted with a lot of advanced instruments and equipments,for example,power withstanding test set,RF leakage test set,permeability test set,relay lifetime test set,vector network analizer,high and low temperature test box,etc.All these has greatly raised our ability of product test verification, we can perform qualification tests and product quality conformity tests on electro-mechanical components,including various relays,connectors and switches,metal package housings in accordance with GJB,GB,SJ,MIL,IEC and ISO standards.In particular,with the means of RF connector test, the Quality Inspection Center can accomplish all test items required by GJB681A-2002.The complete quality gurantee system has ensured the successful completion of item development.

Rich achivements

As of year 2005,40th Institute has accomplished development tasks of 252 new products,among which 129 products are for type items,25 products are for advanced items,3 products are for conquest items,2 products are for per-military standard line items,and 6 products are for technical transformation items.

Among the 236 scientific achivements that have passed appraisal at ministrial or provincial level,85 items has reached domestic advanced level,64 items has reached domestic lead level,72 items has reached internationally advanced level,10 items has reached internationally lead level,and most of them are domestically original;among them 44 items has obtained scientific progress awards at ministrial or provincial level,3 items are appraised as state-level new products,6 items have achived state patents.

The 40th Institute has undertaken tasks of specialty information and standardization.For these years,up to 10 items of GJB or SJ standards are sponcored,9 specialized books have been published,and over 280 academic papers have been published.
